In order to facilitate the “to market” process in the final year of REACH, the consortium participated in the yearly congress of the European Geriatric Medicine Society which was attended by more than 1.500 participants. The consortium used the congress to link up with geriatric doctors and other geriatric professionals in order o be able to identify their needs and derive requirements for the REACH solutions. It was concluded from the congress, that geriatric doctors play a key role in several contexts (general practitioners, hospitals, care homes, etc.) in prescribing and recommending active ageing solutions to older persons. The key is to validate and proof the effectiveness of the solutions and head to a certain extent towards medical certification.
